About Us

Bramah is London's oldest security company

Established at 124 Piccadilly, London in 1784

Born in 1749 in Yorkshire, Joseph Bramah through inquisitiveness, commercial acumen, and engineering skills solved practical problems of the time in such a way, that his contribution to the Industrial Revolution was as significant as Arkwright, Brunel, Maudsley, Stephenson and Watt.

Established at 124 Piccadilly, London in 1784, and today based in Fitzrovia, London and Romford, Essex, we manufacture Bramah and Rola locks for domestic and commercial applications in the U.K. and overseas. We are Marylebone and Fitzrovia's foremost Locksmith and Burglar Alarm installer.

The Bramah Key Mechanism is unique, outstandingly versatile and incredibly reliable.

Door and Window Lock Installation

Bramah, in addition to the supply and fit of our own Bramah and Rola locks, fit a range of locking devices for doors and windows to suit. This would include key registered locks for entrance doors, door viewers, London and Birmingham bars, letter bolts restrictors and sash window stops.

Grilles, Gates and General Metalwork

We supply and fit internal and external bar grilles, collapsible gates, and shutters. General metalwork is made in white and often galvanised. These items are made to order with locking available to suit.

Corporate Accounts and Out of Hours Support

History has shown that we work for many of the London Estates, Central London Property Management Companies and Hospitals in the Marylebone area. We offer accounts and replacement keys over the counter, by special delivery and by bike. In addition we offer 24 hour support to our account customers and Bramah key holders within London.

Out of London Services

It is often not economic for Bramah to travel to all areas of the United Kingdom, however by arrangement we may be able to accommodate your location. Our visits have included Europe and beyond. Examples of recent visits include security advice in Ireland, lock fitting to a metal door in Gateshead, and opening a locked explosive store and fitting locks in remote National Trust properties.
